How Lex Aqua works

The cycle starts after the resurfacer leaves the ice. Snow enters the melting pit, the recovered water is purified through filtration and UV treatment, then reheated and returned for reuse.

Capture
Resurfacer snow enters the melting pit.
Filter
Recovered water moves through filtration.
UV treatment
UV treatment supports the purification stage.
Reheat
Cleaned water is brought back to operating temperature.
Return
Prepared water returns to the resurfacer for reuse.
Why treatment matters
The loop must return cleaner water.
As water freezes, minerals separate from the forming ice crystals. Lex Aqua is designed to keep those minerals and other pollutants from simply re-entering the next ice-making cycle.

Capture
The resurfacer delivers the source water.
After resurfacing, the ice machine releases collected snow into the melting pit. As that snow melts, the resulting water becomes the source for the Lex Aqua recovery cycle.

Purify
Filters and UV treatment clean the recovered water.
Water from the pit moves into the treatment process. Filtration reduces unwanted material, while UV treatment forms another part of the purification sequence before reuse.

Prepare and reuse
Cleaned water is reheated and returned.
Once the treatment sequence is complete, the water is reheated and returned to the ice machine. The next resurfacing cycle can begin with recovered water prepared for reuse.
Operation and control
The process runs automatically. Operators stay informed.
Lex Aqua is designed for automatic operation, while retaining manual control when rink staff need it. A responsive touchscreen provides local visibility, and the system can also be monitored and managed remotely.
